Both bedrooms will be made up with fresh linens and there is an extra set for each. There are clothes hangers and in the basement you will find an iron and ironing board if you feel you can’t do without it but Vermont is very casual. There is an alarm clock and floor fans in both bedrooms. The upstairs bedroom has a TV with VCR player and numerous tapes for adults and kids. Both bedrooms have desks for your laptop if you wish to make use of the wireless high speed internet available in the cabin.

The bathrooms each have a hairdryer and there are some shampoo products should you forget your own. There are several sets of towels including a beach towel. There are also 4 terry cloth robes. If you use them please remember to put them with the dirty towels on your departure. One bath has a shower only and the other has a jetted tub with a hand held shower nozzle. Cleaning products are either under the bathroom sink, or in the basement. Paper products are provided with additional supplies in the basement.

The Bedroom Layouts are described here to help you plan for how it works for your group of travellers. The loft bedroom has a queen size bed and a small private bathroom with the jetted bathtub. The main floor bedroom has a bunk bed in which the top is a single and the bottom is full-sized. Across the hall is the large bath with a shower (no tub). The basement which is unfinished, but bright and airy, has a queen size futon and 2 canvas slung camping cots. If you plan to use the cots bring a sleeping bag as that works better than trying to put sheets on them.

The living room has a CD player and a few CDs, a TV with a DVD player and a few DVD's. There are also family games on the book shelf along with a selection of books to read. Numerous brochures of what to do in the area and a bird watching guide as there are several bird feeders visible from the large windows. The glass fronted soapstone wood stove is a centerpiece for the room as an added bit of atmosphere to the warm of the furnace. Firewood is provided. There is a ceiling fan in the cathedral ceiling of the living room distributing not only cool air during the summer but also the hot air in the Winter. The dining area has a table with 6 chairs, tablecloth, place mats, napkins are provided. A vacuum cleaner is in the downstairs closet to help clean up any spills.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a full refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher and a complete assortment of pots and pans. Everyday wear, flatware, cutlery, glasses and numerous containers complete the cabinet. There is your usual assortment of small appliances like microwave, toaster, coffee maker and percolator, coffee bean grinder, blender and tea kettle. The pantry also has spices and kitchen staples so that you don’t have to buy a huge bag of sugar or flour during your short stay. There is a phone in the kitchen and upstairs bedroom. You will be charged for any long distance calls.

The deck has a propane grill and should the gas run out there is an extra canister in the basement. There are wicker chairs and table for the porch, a picnic table and benches and hammock for your enjoyment.

The basement also has some alternative sleeping capabilities with a queen size futon and 2 camping cots. There is a washer, dryer, 2 bicycles, plastic sled, and the storage area for extra paper products and cleaning items. There are 2 dog crates available for your use – a huge Great Dane sized crate and a smaller one.

Should you be bringing your horses with you there is a barn with water tub, hose, water buckets, storage area for your tack and the hay you bring. Each stall has a feed bucket and hay rack. The stalls can be shut with a tube gate for closure or left open as a run-in area from the small wooded paddock. There is a water hydrant near the barn and a pitchfork and wheelbarrow are provided to assist you in striping the stalls when you leave.


Cabin Rates:

RATES (Starting 2010) - See appropriate rates for standard or premium rental dates (Premium refers to the week preceding, during and following a holiday and the entire Foliage season consisting of the last two weeks of September and all of October.) There are a several weeks which are priced separately.

PLEASE NOTE: Weekend rentals are usually not accepted more than 30 days prior to the date of the rental - 2 night minimum on all rentals. No monthly or long term rentals are available.

Standard Rates:

Please note that Leave No Trace Cabin is a Non-Smoking Cabin.
Smoking outside is permitted but please remove any cigarette butts. Thank you!

Check-in & Check-out Times:

  • Check-in time is 4pm of the day of arrival
  • Check-out time is noon of the day of departure
  • Please adhere to these times as the cleaning lady needs to get in to get the cabin ready for the next guests.
  • Place all used linens and towels in the hamper in the bathroom or in the laundry basket in the basement.
  • All trash must be taken with you – Leave No Trace! If you have used the barn for your horses the stalls must be stripped clean and the paddocks picked up.

Payment:

I accept personal checks or money orders. I do not take credit cards or paypal. Once you have decided to make a booking, a contract is mailed to you. To secure the dates, you return a signed copy of the contract with ½ the rental fee (referred to as the booking deposit). A week prior to arrival the remainder of the rental fee, the 9% VT sales tax and a security deposit is due. The security deposit is typically half of the rental fee but is specified in the contract.
